After their previous congregation in Clyde voted to disaffiliate, members who chose to remain United Methodist came together to form a new faith community—eventually becoming Open Door United Methodist Church. What began as a Wesleyan gathering meeting in a funeral home grew through prayer, perseverance and connectional support into a new church home built with the help of the Horizon Texas Conference and gifts from neighboring congregations. Throughout the journey, members experienced God’s provision and blessing, creating not just a building, but a welcoming, mission-driven community committed to serving others, sharing hope and embodying the connectional spirit of The United Methodist Church.
