Extension Ministries
Extension ministries are vital partners in the mission of the Horizon Texas Conference.
They extend the reach of the church into higher education, healthcare, social services, community development, leadership formation and other settings where people encounter God’s grace every day.
While many of these ministries operate independently, they remain connected to the life of the annual conference through financial support, governance partnerships, clergy appointments or historic relationships. Together, these organizations expand opportunities for discipleship, service, education, leadership development and compassionate care throughout Texas and beyond.
Rooted in the Wesleyan commitment to transform the world through faith in action, extension ministries help the church engage communities in ways that often reach beyond the walls of a local congregation. Through these partnerships, Horizon Texas Conference churches participate in ministries that nurture leaders, serve vulnerable neighbors, support spiritual formation and bear witness to Christ’s love in diverse contexts.
Amarillo Wesley Community Center
The AWCC is a neighborhood center where all people’s positive self-worth can be realized, seeking always to maximize both individual potential and community empowerment. Amarillo Wesley Community Center strives to respond to the expressed needs of the community through a program of educational, recreational, and spiritual activities for children, youth, and adults of all races and faiths.

Cultiv8Community is a nonprofit organization in northeast Texas focused on habitat restoration, environmental education, affordable housing, and connecting people with nature.
