Town & Country Fellowship

In the Horizon Texas Conference, small and rural congregations are not simply part of the landscape—they are vital expressions of our shared faith and heritage.

Town & Country Fellowship is a growing network created to support, resource and celebrate these unique communities of faith.

Whether surrounded by prairie, farmland or wide-open skies, these churches embody a spirit of neighborliness, resilience and gospel-centered life.

Born from our inaugural retreat in May 2025, Town & Country Fellowship opens pathways for connection, shared learning and encouragement across distances, highlighting that no church stands alone in God’s mission.

Town & Country Retreat

Our first retreat in May 2025 gathered 38 pastors and lay leaders from communities across Horizon Texas. Led by Rev. Allen Stanton, the event focused on building connection, recognizing rural assets, and providing spiritual renewal. Attendees were invited to continue the fellowship with a breakfast gathering at Annual Conference 2025 in Dallas.

Celebrating Small Church Ministry

“Designed specifically for our small church communities,” says one participant. This fellowship encourages worship, learning, and mutual care—recognizing the creativity and faithful presence of rural congregations in the Wesleyan tradition.

Growing Community & Connectivity

The retreat catalyzed regular touchpoints—like shared gatherings, peer sharing, and collaborative planning—for churches that often serve in isolation. Town & Country Fellowship encourages boundaries to soften and relationships to deepen across distances.
