Commission on the Status and Role of Women
The Horizon Texas Conference affirms the vital work of the General Commission on the Status and Role of Women (GCSRW). At the Annual Conference level, the Pursue & Embrace Diversity Team provides for COSROW’s functions, as outlined in The United Methodist Book of Discipline, ¶644.
COSROW advocates for the full and equal participation of women in every aspect of church life—clergy and lay, women and men, adults and children—as part of God’s beloved community.
COSROW challenges and equips our churches through leadership development, monitoring, education and training in areas such as sexual ethics and inclusive ministry practices. We believe that empowering all voices is essential to our mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
