Ministerial Education Fund Scholarships
Since 1968 the Ministerial Education Fund apportionment has helped thousands of individuals become pastoral leaders in The United Methodist Church. It is through the faithful generosity of congregations throughout the Horizon Texas Conference that the Board of Ordained Ministry is able to offer these funds to students as a scholarship to further encourage the exploration of ministry and future service.
Course of Study Funds
Local pastors seeking licensing through Course of Study are eligible to be reimbursed for the following: Tuition, fees, room and board at the double occupancy rate will be reimbursed with receipts. Online tuition is eligible for reimbursement. Books are not eligible for reimbursement. Reimbursement requires successful completion of the class. Classes taken at Perkins School of Theology will be billed directly to the Horizon Texas Conference.
Seminary Scholarships
All Horizon Texas Conference certified candidates for ministry who are enrolled in United-Methodist University Senate approved schools are eligible to apply for these scholarships. This scholarship is also available to HTC clergy who are already commissioned or ordained.
Continuing Education (CE) Funds
Continuing Education Funds are available to all appointed clergy of the Horizon Texas Conference, including clergy in full connection, local pastors, and those who are commissioned ministers. The Board of Ordained Ministry is responsible for setting minimal standards and specific guidelines for continuing formation (education) for members of the conference and ensuring the availability of such programs.
