Rev. Tom Long was ordained an elder in 2011 in the legacy Northwest Texas Conference and currently serves as district superintendent for the Horizon Texas Conference’s Mid-Central, Northwest and West districts. Prior to his 2024 appointment as district superintendent, Long served churches across Northwest Texas, including St. Luke’s UMC in Midland, Epworth and Grace UMCs in Abilene, First UMC Hart, First UMC Haskell, Rule and First UMC Vernon.
He completed Course of Study at Duke Divinity School and an Advanced Course of Study, and he is a certified Christian leadership coach. Long has a deep passion for small-membership and county-seat churches. Before entering ministry, he worked for First National Bank of Aspermont.
Long and his wife, Amy, have two daughters, Hannah and Mia.
