Rev. Dr. Mary Spradlin has served as the Mid-South and South District Superintendent since July 2025. Prior to her appointment as district superintendent, Spradlin served for 14 years as senior pastor of Arlington Heights United Methodist Church in Fort Worth.
She holds three degrees from Southern Methodist University: a Bachelor of Music in music education (1991), a Master of Divinity (2002) and a Doctor of Ministry (2017). Her D.Min. project focused on a congregational model for missions using a relational, asset-based community development approach.
Spradlin had the honor of serving on the Central Texas Conference General Conference delegation in 2012, 2016 and 2020–24. She also served for several years as co-residency registrar of the Board of Ordained Ministry in the Central Texas Conference.
Spradlin and her husband, David, met in Sunday school at First United Methodist Church Arlington, her home church. They are the proud parents of Hallie Grace, a graduate of the Colorado School of Mines, and Thomas, a student at Hendrix College in Arkansas.
In addition to congregational ministry, Spradlin has a passion for advocating for all children, youth and families in the state through Pastors for Texas Children, a public school advocacy organization.
