Dr. Kevin Walters serves as the Horizon Texas Conference’s director of operations, a role he began in March 2024. He was also elected as conference secretary. He previously served in the legacy Central Texas Conference as director of the Roberts Center for Leadership, beginning in 2014, and later as director of operations and project management, starting in 2018. The CTC also elected Walters to serve as part of its delegation to the 2024 General and Jurisdictional Conferences.
In his work, Walters has provided resourcing for local congregations, managed conference properties and facilities and led strategic projects. In his current role, he oversees conference properties, develops effective conference processes and implements information technology systems to strengthen the conference’s effectiveness and efficiency.
Walters is a lay person and a member of First UMC of Fort Worth, where he serves on the church council and volunteers with youth programming. Previously, Kevin earned a PhD in American Religious History at the University of Kentucky and a Master of Theological Studies at Duke Divinity School. Kevin is married to Sarah, and they have two college-aged children.
