Christine Peirce has served as the Horizon Texas Conference’s director of children and youth empowerment since August 2024. Before stepping into this role, she worked in the legacy Central Texas Conference as a conference coordinator and previously served as youth director at Arlington Heights United Methodist Church in Fort Worth. She also brings experience as a media teacher, advisor and high school coach, and has held various camp and church leadership positions across the Greater North Texas area.
In her current role, Peirce oversees the resourcing and support of local church children’s, youth and family ministries by working alongside a network of area coordinators and the conference’s board of directors, particularly in support of its many camps. A key part of her work is ensuring that every child, student, young adult and parent has space within their church to explore with curiosity, investigate ideas and grow in the nurturing community that the church provides. In a world as close to heaven as possible, she believes every person would have the chance to spend a week at camp, experiencing the love of creation and the grace of Christ.
Peirce is a 2005 graduate of Texas Wesleyan University and earned a Master of Arts in Christian service in 2008 from Brite Divinity School at Texas Christian University, where she focused on children, youth and young adult formation, spirituality and interreligious dialogue. She continues her study of effective models for nurturing faithful family rhythms that draw people closer to Christ and holy community. She is also trained in Godly Play, a ministry model that encourages space for people to explore and wonder.
Peirce currently serves as an ex officio member on the boards of Bridgeport, Glen Lake and Prothro camps, and she previously served on the board of the Texas Christian University Wesley Foundation. She is also working alongside SEEK Camp to support the formation of its inaugural board.
