Rev. Jeffrey Pehl serves as the chief financial officer and conference benefits officer for the Horizon Texas Conference, a role he assumed in May 2024 with the legacy North Texas Conference.
Pehl was ordained an elder in the NTC in 2022 and previously served as senior pastor of First UMC Iowa Park and Buckingham UMC in Garland. Before entering ministry in 2018, he worked for 35 years in financial services with organizations including IBM Corporation, the Defense Intelligence Agency and the U.S. Department of Defense’s Vietnam War Commemoration.
While with the Vietnam War Commemoration, Pehl was part of an eight-person start-up team that developed a national program to recognize veterans who served during the Vietnam War. In his role as finance officer, he oversaw budgeting, procurement, licensing programs, and legal support for the initiative.
Pehl graduated from the University of Richmond with a B.A. in accounting and holds an MBA from George Washington University. He received his M. Div from Wesley Theological Seminary. He is married to Rev. Silvia Wang, and they have one son, Gabriel.
