Children’s Ministry
Children are a vital part of the church’s life and future, and in the Horizon Texas Conference, we take seriously our baptismal vow to nurture them in faith and love. Children’s Ministry is about cultivating a rhythm of curiosity, play and spiritual growth that begins in the home and is supported by the church. We believe that faith formation in everyday life is the foundation for lifelong discipleship, and we are committed to equipping pastors, directors and families to create spaces where children can experience God’s grace and grow in community.
Faith begins as early as possible, and we also work to equip parents with knowledge to recognize how their children experience the Spirit.
To support this vision, we offer a range of initiatives for both parents and ministry leaders. Parents are invited to join a Faith at Home Cohort, available via Zoom or in person at local churches, to explore practical ways to nurture faith in their families. Ministry leaders can participate in young children and elementary cohorts, designed to prototype and shape ministry around the unique needs of their communities. Additional growth opportunities are available through partnerships with Perkins School of Children and Youth Ministry, Rio Texas Faith Formation and Leadership Academy and more.
We also host Embodied Exploration and A Time for Children and Youth retreats across the conference, offering immersive learning and renewal for those who lead and care for children. Whether you’re just beginning your journey in children’s ministry or looking to deepen your impact, Horizon Texas Conference is here to walk alongside you in forming the next generation of disciples.
