Ministry Discernment Summit
Are you sensing a call to ministry in the United Methodist Church? Do you feel God inviting you to explore a deeper path of service as a licensed or ordained minister?
Join us for Called to Serve: Ministry Discernment Summit, a one-day gathering designed for individuals discerning a call to licensed or ordained ministry in the UMC. This summit offers a sacred space for reflection, learning, and conversation with others on the journey, as well as guidance from clergy and conference leaders.
Whether you're just beginning to explore your call or are ready to take the next step, this event is for you.
Come discover what it means to be called—and how the church can walk alongside you.

Church Leadership Workshop with Matt Miofsky
Join author and UMC pastor Matt Miofsky for a day of teaching from his latest book, "8 Virtues of Rapidly Growing Churches.” In this new publication, he and Jason Byasse carefully researched, interviewed and profiled successful church-growers across the U.S., and identified eight characteristics these leaders and their congregations have in common. These pastors are still learning, still figuring out how to do this work and how to faithfully live into God’s call. But for now, how are they doing what they do? What mistakes have they made and learned from? Where have they paid the stupid tax that others should avoid? Each of these ‘heroes’ is painfully ordinary and up front about their flaws. And each can see slightly farther than the rest of us. What do they see that we can learn from?

Confirmation Camp at Bridgeport
Our Confirmation Connection is a retreat-style confirmation camp in the North Texas Conference that partners with local UMC churches to provide a connectional confirmation experience. This camp occurs at Bridgeport Camp and Conference Center in Bridgeport, Texas.
Our retreat works well as a confirmation kick-off event, mid-way point, or closing retreat based on when your church begins and ends confirmation. It can also act as a confirmation program for churches that don't currently have something to offer their students.
Camp begins on Friday night and ends on Sunday morning. During the camp, our confirmands will be led through five different lessons: what is theology, Old and New Testament, what it means to be United Methodist, Sacraments and Communion, and Baptism and Vows. Our goal is to give a broad overview of the basics of confirmation. This content fits well in any confirmation curriculum our churches might be using.
Along with the lessons, our campers can expect fun games, activities, and other camp favorites like S’mores! While our camp focuses on learning the lessons, we also work hard to ensure that campers have a good time. One of our campers’ favorite parts is mixing and matching our small groups with confirmands from other churches.
Email Christine Pierce if you have any questions.
